Absolutely one of my favorite songs to play, and it's the Canadian National Anthem. By the way, God Save the Queen is the Royal Anthem of Canada. We also teach My Country 'Tis of Thee on the site here, and since it has the same melody as God Save the Queen, you get both very patriotic and important Canadian songs here. Very easy to sing, and quite musical with some nice chord changes and melodic turns for both hands. No C&M.

I believe many national anthems and historic hymns are not appropriate for simplification musically, where they lose the power of their melodies and chords, and the amazing emotional power of their performance.  See them as a goal to be reached as you increase your playing skills. Then play them carefully.
